Unwanted Litters?
We Can Help.
Project ZERO is a Mississippi Animal Project program dedicated to preventing unwanted litters and helping puppies and kittens find safe, loving homes across the Magnolia State.

Bringing the Number Down to ZERO
Every year, thousands of puppies and kittens enter shelters simply because there are not enough homes. Project ZERO exists to change that story.
If your dog or cat has had a litter, Mississippi Animal Project will work with you to:
-
Provide medical care for mom and babies
-
Arrange spay services for mom
-
Help place the litter into loving homes
-
Offer food and supply support when needed
Together, we can protect animals and prevent future litters from entering overcrowded shelters.
🐾 HOW PROJECT ZERO HELPS
Program Requirements
To participate in Project ZERO, participants must:
-
Be willing to foster the litter for 2–3 weeks after weaning while placement is arranged
-
Agree to surrender the litter so Mississippi Animal Project can ensure proper care and placement
-
Work with our team to help each animal find a loving home
We will provide:
-
Vaccines and dewormer for mom and babies
-
Help arranging spay services for mom
-
Support with food and basic supplies if needed
-
By stepping in early, we reduce suffering, prevent overcrowding in shelters, and give animals the opportunity to grow into healthy, loved companions.
Project ZERO is about compassion, responsibility, and community working together for Mississippi’s animals.
